Market Recap 3-5-15
The small cap stocks had decent moves with Marchex (MCHX) up 7.25% on the day and Rightside (NAME) up 3.7%. Google (GOOG) was up $1.96 to close at $575.33.
Neustar (NSR) was up 2.6% after being down over 11% yesterday. The company did get a bit of good news today, as they announced they reached agreement with the Canadian Local Number Portability Consortium Inc. (CLNPC) on an extension to its current contract, which will now run until Dec. 31, 2017.
Neustar has served as the Local Number Portability Administrator (LNPA) for both the US and Canada for 18 years, providing critical infrastructure essential to accurate call routing, consumer choice and competition, and foundational support for the communications industry’s transition to IP networks.
Neustar has been a favorite of short sellers over the last year and the FCC recommendation for Telcordia yesterday was just the news that short sellers were looking for. The exclusive government contract, which expires on June 30, results in almost half of the company’s revenues.
