Worldwide Media Sells Sc.tv for $40,000

December 16, 2014 by Raymond Hackney

Michael Berkens and his Worldwide Media Inc, just sold SC.tv for $40,000, the domain was sold previously by Jim Holleran to a registrant in China back in 2010 on Sedo, the sale price was $1,052.

In December of 2010 it looks like a new registrant from the Netherlands became owner and then .tv investor James Black had ownership a couple months later. In May of 2011 Worldwide Media took ownership of the domain. It looks like James Black dropped the name due to the premium renewal, Michael picked it up without a premium renewal.

The new buyer a Michael Falsone looks to be associated with CBS as the nameservers are CBSig.net.

Congrats to Michael

Always great to see a domain I sold for $1,052 in 2010 sold for $40,000, 4 years later(lol) I had a 1K premium on it back in the day which hurt selling the name, whereas Michael had no premium renewal after it dropped years later which help the resale value. Great sale, great for .tv, and Michael Berkens is a great guy, and congrats to him!!!

That sucks bro…So Berkens got it with no crazy renewal and the previous guy missed out on 40K ?

Verisign has a screwed up policy. I did pick up about 40 2 letter and 2 number .tv off the drop at reg renewal and sold one for $32K, so I been on both the good and the bad side of this. Still Verisign is a horrible company to deal with.

How is it possible that he got a 2 character .TV without premium renewal when I let expire a 3 letter .TV on premium renewal a few years back and was picked up again by the TV registry and its still on premium renewal if I want to buy it back. How?

Very nice sale for an LL.tv. I would love to see a part-time or small domainer announce a sale like this, but it always seems to be the big names (congrats to them though!). We all learn something from every sale reported.
