Domain Investing Stats and Tips

3Letter.com sales for 2013 and 2014

August 25, 2014 by Raymond Hackney

AGCAyt1408992180

I have compiled a list of every 3letter.com that has been reported over the last two years. These were all the names that were reported to DN Journal and published there.

There were some interesting tidbits from the data collected, as I went back through each week by hand and looked at all the 3letter.com sales.

SCQ.com was the lowest reported sale, it was sold for $2,500 in March of 2014. It was then flipped in May for $6,975, not a bad ROI for a domain investor who got the best entry price of anyone buying a 3letter.com in 2013 or 2014.

Oar.com was the opposite, the domain sold for $69,000 in 2013 and was resold for $28,500 in 2014. Both sales occurred on Flippa.

Uth.com was a name that has been in constant motion, the name sold in 2012 for $7,700 and then in 2013 for $7,400 and again in 2014 for $10,400 on NameJet. UTH.org interestingly sold for $9,088 in 2013.

There were 126 reported 3letter.com sales in 2013, with the most popular starting letter being M (11) and then Y (8). In 2014 through August 17,2014 there are 115 reported 3letter.com sales. Again Y is at the top with 10 or roughly 8 % of all reported sales.

The highest sales in 2013 were Fix.com and Hot.com at $850,000. The highest sale in 2014 is BTC.com at $1,000,000.

You will see some names listed twice, they were sold in the same year, the first price is the first sale of the year.

You’re missing some interesting sales for 3 char, not just 3 letters.
See if you can find them and post it.

    • Raymond Hackney says

      August 25, 2014 at 3:43 pm

This post was not about 3 character it was about 3letter.com.

      • Russell says

        August 25, 2014 at 5:05 pm

Nobody really cares about 3char except people who can’t afford LLL dot com.

        • John says

          August 25, 2014 at 5:18 pm

Russell, it has nothing to do with what people can afford. It’s all data.

Get off your high pony 🙂

          John

          August 25, 2014 at 5:20 pm

There are some people with cash Russell who play in the 3 character space. I will look to put something together.

Oh no need to be sorry John, one project at a time, haha. This was done week by week by hand, so the 3 Character one may take a bit of time as I was working on another project. But I will get to it.

Great :), no hurry! Just curious as I had seen some 5 figure sales but do not remember which ones they were.
