The domain talk.tv was purchased for $40,000 in November of 2011 and was the #4 sale that week on the DN Journal weekly sales chart.
The domain was dropped and picked up by Michael Berkens for somewhere around $1200 on the drop. The domain had a $650 (thank you to Ammar from Legacy Fund) renewal for the previous registrant, Cybermanagement AG out of Switzerland. This same company has dropped some other premium .tv names they have purchased, I tried to contact them earlier as a client was interested in one of their domains but did not get any reply.
Congrats to Mike on the purchase.

That’s a lot of cash to waste,was their a developed website ?
These stats are just evidence that the best “catchy one word new gTLDs” will reap the bucks in the forthcoming months/years.
why was the renewal $650?
@Blake This was an old legacy premium, prior to March of 2010, premium .tv names had renewal fees that may be as low as $100 and as high as $10,000 per year. Verisign changed the system but older “legacy” names were not included for change.
So now that Mike has the name it will be a regular renewal of $35 at Name.com. Premium names still cannot be transferred so this domain will stay with Name.com unless Mike dropped the domain.
Nice find!
Congrats, @ Mike Berkens!
