I wanted to put a few things together that might help you with some things that you don't want to put a lot of time and money into.
If you are building an ecommerce site or even the look of your domain selling site, getting a professional logo done is important and I would recommend using someone like Tia Wood or Acroplex. I have used both and the work was very professional.
When you have a lot of domains that you might want to make custom parked pages for then you might not want to spend money. If you have no graphic design skills such as myself, here are a few sites that can help. You may also want to have a good looking image for your Twitter or Facebook pages and do not want to put out the money for several logos. Let me again make clear, I am not saying these are on par with a professional graphic artist.
LogoTypeMaker.com is one site that is very easy to use, just type in some text and then you will see the following:
You get three free options from which to choose, the other logos require payment. The cool thing is you can click "generate new logos" and see another three free options. You of course can play around with size and fonts to make it how you like after you select the free logo.
Logo Snap is another alternative, its a bit more work to use but there are more free options. The site lets you customize just about every detail.
Watermarking
With so many pictures being taken and uploaded you may want to protect your pics so they don't show up somewhere else without credit.
Watermark Tool – Personalized Image Protection
Watermark Tool is the powerful online watermarking software that allows you to quickly
and easily protect your images with a visible watermark. With the many watermarking
options available, you're able to personalize your images in a variety of ways –
including text size, color, and position.
Watermark Tool comes in flavors – free and WMT Plus!
The free version requires no sign up and gives you full access to the text watermark
feature. For a small monthly fee, WMT Plus! adds extra functionality such as a higher
file size limit, the ability to save your watermark settings for future use, and
the option to use an image as a watermark.
The plus is a paid option for those that have more demanding needs.
PicMarkr Features
- Upload files from computer or grab them from your Flickr, Facebook or Picasa account
- Batch image processing
- Add text watermark, image watermark or tiled watermark
- Easy to use: minimum settings, no need to download or install anything
- And yes, its free (You can buy a Pro version, if you need more features)
They also have a pro edition that seems to have some cool functionality for Flickr users.
Staying with the picture theme Placeit is a cool tool to upload screenshots into things like an iphone or ipad and may be useful for a quick mini site image that is personalized with your own logo. They have over 40 different environments to upload your pic into.
ROI Calculator
A lot of times when reading forums or blogs I see people come up with an ROI that is way off. Their return was 200% and they write it was 2500 %.
Here is a great calculator that you can just bookmark and refer back to when thinking about a sale to see your expected ROI, or after a sale to have the proper number.
