A Tale of Two NNNN.coms

December 6, 2012 by Raymond Hackney

By: RH

There alway is a back and forth commentary on expired auctions vs public auctions. Not everyone can sell on NameJet but everyone can sell on Go Daddy.

Go Daddy had an excellent case study on the topic this week.

4705.com was an expired auction and closed for $4005.

4701.com was a domain that I watched get purchased on Namepros for $750 and then put up for public auction on Go Daddy. 4701.com closed at $999.

Two names so similar and yet so far apart in valuation. The funny thing is they were both regged in 2003, with 4701 being a few months older.

Go Daddy support even has a topic on Why do expired auctions get more bids than public auctions ?
