The domain name EAM.com closed today on Go Daddy Auctions. This was not an expired auction but a public auction held by the seller. This is certainly one of the better domains auctioned off on Go Daddy this year.
The domain is a 14 year old domain. 9 bidders placed 47 bids for the domain.
Congrats to buyer and seller.
went too cheap imho
Seems like a cheap price for a very premium letter LLL.com
I wonder how many didn’t know about the auction but would have bid higher?
So here’s the backstory. This name was owned by Virtus Investments. (they had acquired a company that owned this name).
I approached Virtus to by this name for a client. I had been authorized to spend $50k for the name. I spent several months chasing after them for the name – which they had no plans on selling. They finally get the green-light to sell the name but decide to place it in GD auction instead of selling it to me directly, hoping to get a higher offer.
He emailed me last week to explain their plans so I reach out to my client to be sure he still wants it. Nope. He’s changed his mind – so I don’t bid.
Virtus should have sold me the name several months ago, when they could have gotten $50k.
