NetFirms $4.95 special

August 18, 2011 by Raymond Hackney

Netfirms.com is running a special til 8/31.

Com/Net/Org/Us/Biz/Mobi/be/ca/info $4.95 with one year of free privacy.

The link you want to use is http://www.netfirms.com/domain-names/domain-deal?LinkName=No_Name

If you type in www.netfirms.com and put in a domain its $7.99 so use the link. (NO ITS NOT A REFERRAL LINK)

I did not have an account so I just opened one and regged five domains.

They do add a couple things under website essentials but you can remove them so you only pay for the domains.

The domains are set to auto renew

Your account info is emailed to you. The funny thing was I did not sign up for an account first, I put in the domains and then info and then got email with my username and a temp password that you change the first time you log in.

Netfirms domains are handled by TUCOWS, they are no longer an accredited registrar.

Registrar Transfer Information

March 2, 2011

As part of the transition, Netfirms will no longer be an accredited domain registrar; domains will be transferred from the Netfirms registrar account to our partner registrar Tucows. Partnering with a company to manage the registrar side of things will allow us to focus on improving our core hosting services and domain management tools — in essence, our only focus will now be your customer experience with us.

This transfer will have no effect on your domains or where they point, and there is no action required on your part. You will continue to manage all aspects of your domain through your Netfirms control panel, including renewals and new domain registrations, just as you do today.

For .CA Domains: The Canadian Internet Registration Authority (CIRA) has asked that we inform you that your CIRA registrar account is being transferred from Netfirms to Tucows. This transfer will have no impact on the status of your domains, and no action is required on your part. If you would like, you can review our registration agreement with Tucows; we will assume your acceptance of this agreement unless you take action to transfer your domain name to another provider prior to March 15, 2011. While Netfirms will no longer be your registrar, Netfirms will continue to serve as your web hosting and domain management company, and you will continue to manage all aspects of your domain through your Netfirms control panel, just as you do today. We encourage you to email us at transition@netfirms-inc.com if you have any questions or concerns regarding this registrar transfer.

For other domain extensions/TLDs: The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) has asked that we inform you that your ICANN registrar account is being transferred from Netfirms to Tucows.
