Over the last week many have expressed they would be moving out of Go Daddy because of Bob Parsons hunting excursion in Zimbabwe where he took down an elephant.
Now Rick Schwartz has posted that he is moving his 4500 domains out of Moniker. http://www.ricksblog.com/my_weblog/2011/04/bye-bye-birdie-i-mean-bye-bye-moniker.html From the comments on Rick's blog many seem to have been feeling the same way as Rick, or are going to follow his lead and move their domains from Moniker.
So which issue will be the bigger issue from a domain industry standpoint ? Will Go Daddy benefit from the Moniker exodus and offset the Elephant hunt ?
Seems like registrars like Fabulous,Name.com and Dynadot stand to benefit as many feel they are either strong in security, interface or customer service.
Should be interesting to see how many domains are moved.
Rick is the bigger deal. He is domaining.
There so many issues going on Go Daddy right now, so clearly this is not just one thing that prompt me others to “evacuate”. Sadly, this is so disappointing.
What we are made out of that is what we become and that kind of world we create.
The world is a sad place for a sad face
