Go Daddy sending email about a searched domain

March 26, 2011 by Raymond Hackney

When furniture.tv sold for $24,000, just out of curiousity I checked furnituretv.com and furniture-tv.com. I did not want to register furniture-tv.com but I got an email today.

Thanks for visiting GoDaddy.com, the world's #1 domain name registrar. During your visit, you searched for FURNITURE-TV.COM, but didn't complete your purchase. As of 3/26/2011, FURNITURE-TV.COM was still available.

Funny thing is I checked like three days ago.  First time I ever had Go Daddy do this. Anyone else get these after checking a name available at Go Daddy ?

Never heard of such a thing.
Do you have an account with GoDaddy and were you logged in?

I really start to like GoDaddy. As a domain name speculator newbie, GoDaddy is a wonderful place to explore & learn to buy/sell names. Haven’t sold any yet. But it’s just a matter of time with GoDaddy’s marketing engine behind me.
Now, if GoDaddy can just get its hosting server speed up to par with HostGator…and the like…I can just stay in GoDaddy’s bubble for years to come.

I bet I know the domain you got – I cried when all I saw was the second email showing it was sold. If it is the one I am thinking – Nice Score.

I didn’t have that experience, however,I did have several experiences where Godaddy and Monker registered a domain name that I had only searched the day before, and felt was really good, for themselves. It was to coincidental.

This just happened to me the other day. I don’t usually use Go Daddy to check domains, but I happen to be on their site and I search for something and they sent me an email a couple days later saying that the domain name was still available.
