Market Recap 2-12-15
Verisign (VRSN) continued its streak of up days closing at $61.72 up 1.2%. The stock traded as high as $62.19 on the day. The company which reported earnings on Feb 5 has been up every day since. Forbes did an article on Cablevision passing Verisign as the most shorted stock in the S & P 500.
The “days to cover” at 01/30/2015 was 23.10 for CVC, and 17.86 for VRSN; this compares to the average across all S&P 500 components of 3.61 (down from the average back on the 01/15/2015 settlement date of 3.71).
Verisign still has high short interest and could have some of those shorts covering lately.
Google (GOOG) was up 1.3% on the day and closed at $542.93.
Tucows (TCX) was down 1.5%.
