Yesterday there were 59 .tv domains that dropped that had a certain theme. They were all Geo .tv domains that used the number one (1) in place of an i.
So names like Indiana.tv were spelled 1ndiana.tv or Hawai1.tv or 1reland.tv. These names were regged at Godaddy and were renewed twice. Godaddy has not been the lowest price to register a .tv domain either.
But let's say they used a coupon code and paid $24.99. The same coupon code for renewing all 59 .tv domains. That is still 59 x $75 or $4425.
Its fine to try alternative domain strategies, but they have to make at least some sense. That $4425 could have bought one very good .com domain.
We all make mistakes and bad registrations but you hate to see that kind of money just go into the registrars pocket with no real chance to make any money. Again IMO
