First it was the Panda and then the Penguin. Well today Matt Cutts from Google tweeted the following:
This may not be a minor change for domainers and affiliate marketers. Search Engine Land also saw this tweet and the article there is worth reading.
The comments on S E L are also interesting with some expressing disappointment and some glad to see the move.




No, it’s definitely not a change that can be brushed aside easily. Many voices are speaking up about the changes that have happened recently. Some people have suffered badly, despite the fact that their sites provide great content.
I think Google is still exploring as far as their results are concerned. If quality content is being pushed down in the rankings, changes still need to be made. Some fine tuning would ensure that quality rises to the top.
The latest move is akin to shooting down all people who are wearing name tags. A site that uses exact keywords in the domain name is not necessary poor quality.
