Front running me is becoming a thing, well kinda. Back in May I wrote about someone offering me $1,000 for Stock.loans, I accepted their offer at the beginning of the pandemic and they went quiet.
Weeks later they told me they planned on selling the name to a client who supposedly, sadly passed away from Covid in India.
Things happen, moving on
So a few weeks ago I get an offer on a domain name that did have a buy it now for $2,888. The landing page is at Epik and I forgot to check the box to remove “or make an offer”.
The prospect offered $1,000 and I decided to accept it, no reply. No payment made. So then I email them and they tell me, “the deal fell through.” What deal? Our deal? I am following through.
They had a buyer lined up who decided to pass at the last minute.
So this past weekend I got back to someone that offered me $1,000 for Vabol.com, I accepted the offer, and they went silent. They got back to me today saying they thought their boss would pay them $5,000 for it but he was not interested in the name.
They ended the email, “but I will take it for $100 if you like?”
$1,000 seems to be the magic price
All 3 buyers were from India, is someone writing a course on domain investing and how to flip names before you pay for them? I have done business with many from India and no problems so it’s not an India thing, but someone might have a newsletter promoting this technique to sell domain names.
I will never accept another $1,000 offer again. (Kidding).
