BrandBucket’s most valuable names
So this week I looked at the email from new names added to BrandBucket and I saw Olive.com which is not the normal name you think of when you think of BrandBucket. You think of solid two word brandables or a madeup pronounceable what BrandBucket calls an invented name.
But when you look at the premium names listed there now some names stand out. Some make sense for a startup others may not.
Connecticut.com Asking price $600,000
Lend.com with an asking price of $2.5 million
Nude.com with an asking price of $1,560,000 now what’s interesting here is that BrandBucket asks all it’s sellers to park their names at BrandBucket with full exclusivity. Nude.com is a website with porn right on the front page. There is a popup that shows it’s available at BrandBucket.
MyTube.com $900,000
FinancialAid.com $900,000
InstantCash.com $900,000
Oahu.com $850,000
Olive.com $780,000
Floor.com $750,000
Hark.com $750,000
These are major names and I don’t think most would give exclusivity to one brandable marketplace. These names cannot be on Afternic or DAN or GoDaddy. BrandBucket does have a partnership with Sedo so there is added exposure allowed there.
These would all be 15% commission unless they got a better deal.
- 30% for names below $10,000 USD
- 25%Â for names between $10,000 USD and $50,000 USD
- 20% for names between $50,000 USD and $100,000 USD
- 15% for names above $100,000 USD
Would you a list a tier 1 premium .com with BrandBucket?
Some of those names are far better than others. For something like Olive.com though it is a mistake to list with brandbucket and a bad idea to put a BIN price on it. This name will sell itself and the owner is starting from a position of weakness.
Agree!
Hefty 30% commission fee. You gotta build that into the price, which means it might take longer for you to find the right buyer. But, as a seller, as long as you get the price you want, it doesn’t matter where the domain sells.
They changed their commission structure awhile back
30% for names below $10,000 USD
25% for names between $10,000 USD and $50,000 USD
20% for names between $50,000 USD and $100,000 USD
15% for names above $100,000 USD
The commission fee for names prices over 100,000 is 15%
Indeed a hefty commission but if they aid the sale with adverts and other essentials. Then, the domainer won’t mind the cut…its win-win
there is smokeless.com in 500k usd
i have submitted smokefree.com lets see how much they will approve it for 🙂
smokeless.com for $500k is very unrealistic. They’ll never see a sale pricing it like that. 4 or low 5 figure name.
And ONA.com $605,000 USD.
Can anybody point to sales history on the brandbucket platform? I wan know if any one is selling domains on there for numbers close to those.
BrandBucket does not report individual sales, on Namepros from time to time we researched some, DNBolt used to post sales data he found.
I don’t see what the problem is with setting a BIN at BrandBucket. If seller is comfortable with the price, then why not?
I just don’t know why if I own Olive.com, I am
a) giving someone exclusivity
b) 15% commission for passive selling
c) Who is hitting a buy it now for $780,000, you can get the name up but those deals are usually negotiated.
Yes, you are tied up. But BrandBucket also have cash-rich buyers that come specifically to them to buy names, and who BB reach out to. So they might never notice your name even if it is listed at GoDaddy.
Having said that, there have been some very strange things that do not match their supposedly high quality lately. Showing porn on nude.com is certainly one of them. Listing cocaine.io and dickhead.com are not great choices either I think.
Yes, i agree with your view Michael. Does not look good.
smut.com is also a recent listing
They also have ticketbooth.com for $480,000.00
What’s the site most similar to BrandBucket.com
I have never sold any domains more than usd10,000 for the past 25 years of selling domain, even though I think many of my portfolio are better than the listed. I started MalaysianBrand.com but never had a chance to become popular.
