As we start 2017, I think one of the most important questions that is not often asked is the following, “Why am I a domain investor ?”
This business is no longer new, I am not saying it’s over but it’s no longer new. Most niches have been mined, drops have gotten more expensive in a lot of categories, there is competition on just about every continent.
Again, this is not saying domaining is over, but it might be for some who got in for the wrong reasons, own the wrong domains or don’t have the budget to compete.
I think it’s important to answer the question honestly and if you are satisfied with the answer, carry on domaining. If you don’t have a good answer then maybe you rethink things.
Best of luck

Thank you for this wake up call… honestly I don’t know. I sold all my good four letter .coms and not sure why I domain anymore.
Domaining.pro says
I parked domains, even short “.com” ones on almost ALL platforms to try to sell them. Never made it. The only domains that I sold were transferred on the basis of trust (never used escrow – ever) and payment was always sent before domain were transferred.
I think platforms to park domains are good…to park domains but I would not recommend any new comer to this business to think he can count on them to sell domain names. This requires sharing and talking.
And by the way, domaining.pro is for sale.

Goal has always been and always will be to trade up for better domains for my own projects and businesses.

I view my investing as the title suggests….investing.
I invest for my future retirement and monthly income……..and for me, it is working.
I always tell friends and acquaintances that if they like stock investing…doing the research and analytics..you will enjoy domaining.

I enjoy domaining/naming, very passionate about it.
What other way can you own a slice of the Internet? Not with social media or an app!
No where else can you rub shoulders with the big boys and carve out your own real estate online. Owning domain names gives you that advantage.

This type question can actually be very motivational. It encourages an investor to evaluate their business model and make tweaks where needed for a better ROI experience in the new year.

Very simply put, I enjoy getting a valuable asset at a fraction of what I think it’s worth or what it will be worth. Getting a good deal is getting harder to come by now but it is still more likely than any other asset class.

I am a domain investor of 2012 and I have invested honestly in what I believe to be value or an asset in sight for 1 to 3 years, honestly I have not been lucky for a simple reason I do not live in US and I can not make trips Long, that prevents me from being able to negotiate and not have contacts with other big buyers at events and conferences. If I am informed by Mr. Howard Neu on Twitter, the change of venue for the conference would be October in the state of Orlando. I am so honest that I seem foolish to believe in a market that by not being in it, you lose all opportunity .
I sell before the end of August 80 names of domains for me considered premium with a stipulated value of $ 1,500, honestly who desires to buy each one to $ 300 the need is first of all, in the sale for the expenses of the house and to pay taxes and to save And reinvest a part in expired domains flip to get a profitability.
Thank you for letting me honestly write this truth.
