We want to change things around a little and have one inclusive list for everything. Instead of just auction picks at Go Daddy and NameJet and then having available or closeout lists.
The daily list will be NameJet and Go Daddy Auctions, along with Sedo auctions, Go Daddy Closeouts,Domains for sale at Namepros and DnForum and available names to register.
Our criteria for listing picks is broken into three categories:
Investment – Names that have value and or liquidity. A name like a LLL.com or 3 character.com has liquidity that you usually can find someone willing to offer you something for the name instead of needing the perfect end user.
Speculation, these names are not great, but if you are buying for $10-$20 have a good risk – reward ratio. They may also be a novelty that some people like. Names that substitute z for s, hyphenated names, a very exotic cctld or gtld. Names that we see people starting domain wanted threads frequently about would be included in this category.
Development, the name make sense for a specific idea, recently I regged InyourSpareTime.com, not a name of any resell value, but its a good descriptive domain for the development idea.
So every name that's listed will have a reason why its listed and for which criteria. I think too many times I read lists and sometimes have included names in our lists, that are just what is popular from a number of bidders standpoint. Those names may very well be good most of the time but what does it mean for the small to mid size domainer ?
Many names on NameJet provide little opportunity for the small to mid sized domainer, if the name is good they are not going to out bid guys like Frank Schilling or Kevin Ham or Michael Berkens for example.
The Daily list for 1/21/12
Go Daddy Auctions
ygy.biz (speculation) I see enough domain wanted threads for LLL.biz so this might interest someone looking for them. 1 bid currently $10.
kickz.org (speculation) 13 year old domain, taken in many extensions. 0 bids currently
SummerRetreat.com (investment) 11 year old domain. .Ca and .Org registered
Choreographer.net (investment) 13 year old domain at $305 currently.
NameJet all these names must be back ordered by 11pm Eastern time 1/21/12
540.org (investment) Not .com but still some value in NNN.org, Theo from DomainGang sold 360.org for $25,000, so these names can fetch a nice price to the right buyer. (not implying in any way that 540 is as strong as 360)
Vyyo.com (speculation) pronounceable four letters seem to do all right. Its not the greatest for the radio test, actually it fails that, but if acquired reasonably could be worthwhile for a decent flip. 1999 registration.
Go Daddy Closeouts (These names can be purchased instantly)
HostFlorida.com (development/speculation) I think this is a nice name for a hosting company located in Florida looking to do business with local Florida companies. 14 year old domain. The .us is regged.
eSubscription.net (dev/spec) I could see the name being used for some type of online subscription service and the Net does not hurt for that type of business. 13 year old domain. Com/org/info regged.
Never are any affiliate links used and never are any names listed that belong to anyone writing for Hybrid Domainer.
*we don't think there is anything wrong with those who do, we just don't want the potential for conflicts of interest or any other nonsense*
